If you want to swim at the beach, you need to be keep an eye out for jelly fish. There are many jelly fish species in Okinawa, but the artificial beach next to the Southern beach hotel resort is a safe place to swim! They provide jelly fish netting for the beach that is inside the seawall, so the water is calm. This is a good beach where kids and adults can enjoy swimming together.

  Swimming area

  Since the wind and the waves are not strong at Chu Chu beach, you can even swim when there's bad weather. While most of the beaches are closing due to the typhoons, Bi Bi beach is sometime opens. However, Please check with the office before you go. There is an artificial seashore close to the beach. The rock are rough, so it's recommended to not let kids go by themselves. The sand is very silky making it very comfortable walking barefoot. The beach provides a shower room and locker room.

  BBQ

  You can enjoy BBQ at the beach with your family and friends! The site overlooks the beach, hence you can watch your children swimming from the BBQ . You are not allowed to bring any food with you, but some foods(Onigiri, noodles and drinks) are Ok. Please contact the staff in advance by calling or through their web-page.

  Marine Kaun

  You can play volleyball, soccer and basketball at beach side courts. The marine activities are wakeboarding, biscuits, Dragonboat racing, Jet skiing ,banana boats, big marvel, parasailing, snorkeling, and clear kayaking. Please check for more Information at the office.

How to enjoy Bi Bi beach

When you get tired, have a break at the harbor. It is located next to the sands. There are basket courts and a playground, that kids can enjoy and you can watch them from the arbor.

There are observation platforms at the edge of the beach. Many family visitors and couples come to see the sunset from here. Some locals visit to take a nice picture of the sunset. It's also known for the best spot for wedding pictures. There is no tall buildings around the beach, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery at the beach.

Your time at the beach will be a fantastic memory. The parking lot needs to be paid for in advance. Once you pay, you can go in and out anytime after.

The artificial beach is mostly popular among family and couples. The wind and waves are calm, so it's a good beach for people who are visiting an Okinawan beach for the first time, or for those who aren't really good at swimming, or want to swim during bad weather. There is a BBQ area and a playground for kids!

Bi Bi beach may not be as beautiful as beaches up North. However if you want to swim safely, and want to enjoy marine activities and BBQ'S, and a beach that’s close to Naha-airport; this is the best beach for you!
