Bios no Oka is a popular tourist destination in Okinawa where you can feel the great nature of Okinawa. The park welcomes visitors with disability. Free strollers and free parking lots are available.

Bios no Oka is located in the middle part of Okinawa, Uruma-city on Ishikawa hill where you can enjoy the subtropical Okinawan nature. The word “Bios” means “life” in Greek. The park has compretely defferent atmosphere unlike the urban area and you can enjoy the subtropical Okinawan nature by walking around the park.

    The best part of Bios no Oka is its Okinawan nature. The beautiful orchids and magnificent Malayan banyan tree are must-see. Okinawan people believe that banyan tree has mysterious powers. In the myth, the protective god called “Kijimuna-”lives in the banyan trees. Here you may be able to meet Kijimuna-!

    Lake tour boat and Canoe

    The lake tour boat Jungle cruise is very popular! The guide will explain plants and animals of the lake. The cruise takes about 25 minutes and goes around the lake for about 1 km. People with wheelchairs can also join the cruise! What to bring? A Camera and towel are must have items. If you like adventures, we highly recommend the canoe! You may be able to see beautiful dragonflies and birds!

    This area is very popular, especially for children! You can pet Okinawan animals and even take goats for a walk! In Okinawa, goats are livestock. Many people have them as livestock. The goats here are very friendly and even adults can enjoy it! Their voice is lovely and you can definitely enjoy!

How to enjoy Bios no Oka

Road train

Bios no Oka is located about 60 minutes from Naha airport by a car. Free parking lots are available for 200 cars. Bios no Oka is a bit different than any other parks. There is no exact route in the park. If you ask one of the staff, “ Where is the right way?” They will answer “you can go wherever you want to.” makes it feel like it's more of an adventure. The park welcomes visitors with disabilities; everybody can enjoy. When it's summer, the sun is really strong, so some points at the park have sprinklers so that you can enjoy the cool air.

If you don't want to walk, there is a train running in the park. Families with small children and elderly people can feel free to use it. Also on the train, the guide will explain trees and plants while watching from the window. Most of the walkways can be very comfortable with cool air and shadow of the trees. The nature heals the visitors of the park. Many people stop throughout The park to take pictures. There are many photo spots to take a good pictures with family/friends/couples.

At the break area, You can get some light meals and cool drinks. It's a good spot to relax, cool down, and take a little break. If you are hungry, just come stop by! Especially Orion beer its the most sold item! The beer with hot weather is a perfect match! On the way to the walkway, you may be able to see dragonfly and lizards. If you find a lizard, careful to touch, do not let it bite you. There is one spiritual spot. They have a picture of it at the park, but once you walk through the spot you'll feel the different atmosphere. If you have chance to visit Bios no Oka, Please stop by!
